The PS3 is going for 10 000 000 yen which is equal to 85 000 USD on the Yahoo Japan e-commerce website. This is astounding, considering that PS3 pre orders on eBay are only going for about 2000 USD as of right now. This will all change once the system is released in the US on the 17th. Anyone willing to guess how much the PS3 will go for on eBay on friday. 1 000 000 USD????

Well, this week I went a respectable 8-5 ATS (Against the Spread), and a not so respectable 5-8 straight up. This bring my overall total to 46-54, and I also nailed my lock of the week, that being the Browns plus the points. My not so good 5-8 straight up record brings my overall record to 63-36, which is alright, but must improve.

PS3 eBay Pre Order Madness Begins

Following reports that eBay was shutting down PS3 pre-order's until launch and banning people who put their system on the e-commerce site, eBay has stated the new rules required to sell a system on the site. They go as following.

1. I must have a Feedback of 50 or more.
2. My Feedback score must be 98% or above.
3. I may only list one system. I may list 1 PlayStation 3 and 1 Nintendo Wii with a photo of my pre-order receipt for each system.
4. I must accept PayPal as my only payment option.
5. I must include a photo of my receipt in the listing.
6. No Buy It Now will be allowed.
7. No one day listings will be allowed.

Obviously, this is due to the Xbox 360 eBay debacle of last year. These rules will prevent people who plan on scamming those non-tech savvy consumers into buying just the box of the system, or any of the other things which were happening last year.

Now that all the people who posted auctions before these rules were in place have had there consoles removed the madness begins once again. Systems are going for about $2175.00. Quite the coin, but people wanting to purchase this holiday's hottest item must be willing to fork over the cash to young eBay entrepreneurs. Here is an auction going for a whole lot of money.

Eurogamer has recently taken a hands on with the PS3's online service and has many wonderful things to say. This makes me happy as a gamer, as I already have a PS3 reserved, and will be picking it up on launch day.

Just got Port of Miami

Hey guys,

Underground star Rick Ross has just released one of the most anticipated albums of the summer, Port of Miami. All I can say is this album lives up to the hype. If you like rap, this is definitely something to get.

Rick Ross is the only artist to have his single, Hustlin' to go platinum as a ringtone, even before his album was released, so you can see how hot his album will sell.

I would give this album 4.5/5, and recommend it to anyone out there who likes rap.

Another album I copped this week was Cassie's debut album. Cassie is Badboy/Block Entertainment's new girl, and her debut album is solid. It features great beats, and good vocals, this girl's got talent.

Overall, I would give her album a solid 4/5 and recommend it to anyone who is a big R&B fan.

E3 Renamed, Relocated, Reloaded

The ESA confirmed today the changes to the E3 format, but what we didn't know is that it will be relocated to 2 hotels in the LA area, and be moved from the usual May date, to July.

The date change is because publishers wanted more time to polish their games before a holiday launch. Another thing which was announced was that E3 has been renamed to the E3 Media Festival, and expects to draw in 5000 people, a fraction of the 60 000 + which walked the halls at this year's E3.

More details will be disclosed in the coming months.

LOL Moment

The other day, me and a friend of mine were at the movie theatre. The guy I was with happens to think he is all that, and seems to think he is a Romeo or something. So we were walking past one of those love machines, and I happen to have a quarter in my pocket, so I tell him to go to that machine and see what happens.

Well he goes to the machine, sees that the top setting is hunk, and starts bragging to me that he will get hunk, and that I am a nerd and such. So I give the guy this quarter, and he walks to the machine pops it in, and 2 lights go on, guess what it lands on....NERD. So I instantly start making fun of the guy, and taunting him, and then all of a sudden I see him grab the machine and start shaking him. He was going NUTSSSS!!!!!!

He then started yelling at me, telling me that all these machines are fake pieces of junk, and that it is my fault he got NERD. I just stand there laughing, watching this kid go crazy over a stupid machine.

All the while people are walking by us going what are these kids doing. I decide this would be a good time to make my exit, so I slowly start walking away, and the guy I was with gets approached by the manager of the movie theatre.

Long story short he got kicked out the movie theatre for two weeks, and his parents were not too thrilled with him. Let's just he will think twice about using one of those machines again.

ESA Announce Evolution for E3 07

The Entertainment Software Assoiation hs announced changes to the format of this year's E3. Instead of the mega trade show we have come to expect, it will be much more downscaled and focus on the games, instead of the massive lights and ear blasting sound we have come to expect.

To quote Teamxbox,

"The new E3Expo will take shape over the next several months. As currently envisioned, it will still take place in Los Angeles, described by ESA as a "great and supportive partner helping to build E3." It will focus on press events and small meetings with media, retail, development, and other key sectors. This is good for the industry and the media. No longer will we have to worry about people who are clerks at EB running around collecting swag and crowding the convention centre.

E3 was becoming such a huge thing that many people who had to write reports for their various websites couldn't play the Wii because they would have had to wait in 4 hour lines. The new format will help both mega companies such as Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony, as well as the indie developers who can now get a chance to have their games shown evenly.

More details on the format of this year's E3 will be announced in the coming months so stay tuned.

Xbox 360 Price Cut rumors Afloat

As we near the launch of 2 next gem consoles, rumors are surfacing that Microsoft is getting ready to cut the price on it's next gem console.

With the PS3 currently scheduled to retail at 600 USD for the premium package, the 360 could really take away its thunder (if it has any) by reducing the price of its console, or by making the premium package more enticing to consumers. After all, a little game known as Gears of War is coming out soon, and maybe they could bundle the 360 in with that and a few (say 400) Microsoft points.

Take these rumors with a grain of salt, as no one has officially confirmed anything, but make sure to stay tuned to this blog for more details if they do happen.

Early Reaction on E3 Cancellation

Well, I've spent 30 minutes browsing various news sites across the web, and I have mixed reactions about the days events.

First off, I am sad because I have never been to an E3, and was planning to go in the future. I am sad because E3 was like an early Christmas for gamers across the globe. We would come home from work or school to see massive gaming announcements across the internet. We would see the "battle" going on between the big 3 console manufacturers. E3 was a time where gamers across the globe shared their feelings about new games, consoles and various other things. Sadness was my inital reaction, but then as I thought about it more, it made sense.

Every year, publishers spend millions trying to build the best booth. They need a big, loud and eye catching booth to stand out amongst the thousands of other booth's located inside the mammoth 540 000 Square Foot convention centre. Many games get overlooked, and developers must focus all their time leading up to E3 to build a demo which will make people want to play that game. This is time consuming, and causes stress to meet deadlines. If a game demo is shown, and it looks horrible, the masses will overlook the game, even if it is a build of a game slated to come out in a year. E3 is also a very stressful time for gaming magazines and websites such as gamespot, who must send many people to the event, to try and cover as much as possible.

The point is, E3 being cancelled is sad, but it is good for the industry in the long run. Many indie developers who cannot afford to make it to E3 will now be able to show off more of their games, and the mad rush of gaming news will not pour in all at once.

By 2010, I predict that a new tradeshow will take E3's place, and the huge booths and console wars will errupt once again.

I can also see some problems being made because of today's announcements however. Gaming publications will now have to travel to individual tradeshow event's such as Nintendo's Space World, and Microsft's X event's.

But when I consider everything, today's announcements may not be as bad as meet's the eye.

E3 07 to be Shurnk Greatly (Edit 1)

Reports are coming out today saying that the ESA has decided to cancel the game industry's annual E3 event for next year, and beyond.

Reports claim that this is due to the millions of dollars spent trying to make gigantic booths to fill the 540 000 Square Foot LA convention centre.

Game publishers say that the returns are not enough to warrant the millions spent at this event, and they should focus more of this money on the game's development. Plans are being made to hold a much smaller trade show, probably in May.

This comes as a huge shock to me, and the gaming community around the world, as this story came out of no where.

A press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow where it is expected that the announcement will be made official.

Texas Holdem Achievements Announced

The Texas Holdem Poker Achievements have been added to the achieve 360 points database today and they look pretty tough.

Hopefully this game is close to launching, as myself and many others have been greatly anticipating this game ever since it was announced way back at CES.

The achievements are:

Dawn of War coming to 360?

Gamesindustry.biz recently interviewd Relic boss Ron Moravek who stated that they are watching the success of recently released Xbox 360 title Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle Earth 2.

On top of that, they say that they are thinking of releasing Warhammer 40 000 Dawn of War and maybe even Company of Heroes on next gen consoles.

If true, this could be a big step for the 360, as these are two very good games.

Small Arms Release Date

If the August issue of Game Informer is to be believed, Xbox Live Arcade game Small Arms is on target for an August release date. According to various reports from people who have gotten the magazine, there is a small section which disscusses the game, and one of the game's developers says they are targeting August as the release date for the game.

Small Arms is the first game with a viral achievement, which when the game is released will only be had by the game's developers, but everytime they play someone, they will get the achievement, until eventually everyone who has played the game online will get the achievement.

Here's hoping this game comes out in August as it looks very good.

N3: Ninety Nine Nights Demo Released

The demo for N3: Ninety Nine Nights has been released in all Xbox Live regions. The game is shipping on the 15th, so putting out the demo now is good for the game, as many people were on the fence as to buying it or not.

The demo weighs in at 587.37 MB, which is relativly small for demo's nowadays.

I will download it and be back on the site to give impressions so stay tuned.

Splinter Cell Double Agent Delayed

Ubisoft announced today that their earnings are up 62 % over the same period last year, thanks to strong performance by both Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Heroes of Might and Magic 5.

After stating this, Ubisoft casually announced that the much anticipated Splinter Cell Double Agent had slipped a month from September to late October.

Hopefully this delay means the developers can add some more polish, and ensure that the game is 100% on release.

Madden 07

Gamespot has a new preview of Madden 07, in which they take a look at the superstar mode of the game, which allows you to take control of any player, and play with them for the whole game. This has come along pretty well according to the preview, which states that the QB and HB feel natural, while the CB position is the most difficult of them all.

Personally, I am very stoked about this year's Madden. Also make sure to check out the screenshots Gamespot has posted, they look amazing.

Madden 07 will be out on August 22nd, for all platforms.

Gears of War Viral Messages??

A select number of people from the IGN insider message boards are claiming that they have been getting messages on xbox live from MFenix, who is actually Marcus Fenix from the upcoming game Gears of War. The message states that he needs our help, and will send more information tomorrow.

Today, this message has been confirmed by Marc Rein who is one of the head honcho's over at Epic, the studio developing the game.

These recent messages tie in closely to comments Marc Rein made a few days ago, in which he stated that a big Gears of War announcement is coming next week. Could this be a release date?

Bungie non Halo game to be announced at X06

Videogamesblogger.com is reporting that Bungie is set to announce a new non Halo game at X06, which will be held in Barcelona on the 27th and 28th of September. According to the post on the site, a community manager close to the project told Spong

“As far as things stand, Halo 3 is the last game and it’s more than just ‘a thing to say’ which I know came as a surprise to everyone when it was announced. A new game from Bungie, not Halo 4, will be announced soon and pre-production has begun. So if you’re looking for what to expect at X06, you should be looking at that.”

If true, this could mean that Halo 3 will indeed be the last game in the series.

First Impressions: NCAA 07 Xbox 360

Hey guys,

Yesterday I rented NCAA 07 for the 360 and have played a few games and am going to give some impressions.

First off, the graphics look great in HD, and the sound is great aswell. The staduims look good, but the game does have some jaggies around the players and stadiums.

The gameplay is solid, but the AI on the standard difficulty level is far too easy. Even when I ramped up the difficulty the game still seemed far too easy, as I was able to run over players and complete passes left and right. Another area where the game falters is the features it has. The race to the heisman mode is not in the 360 version, and the dynasty mode is pretty basic. Compared to NCAA 07 on the original Xbox, this game is very lacking in the features department.

However, I did play some multiplayer online and while one game I played was a bit laggy, the rest seemed to play well. My only gripe is that there is no online tournaments, which would have added more depth to the game.

While this game did not quite met my expectations after playing the current gen version, there is still fun to be had.

I will post my full review when I have spent some more time with the game.

Fusion Frenzy 2 Announced

Today, Microsoft has officially announced that xbox launch title Fusion Frenzy is getting a sequel. Fusion Frenzy 2 will feature over 40 mini games, and Xbox Live support.

Personally, I will only pick this up if it launches at around 40$. The first one was fun, so if the price is right, Microsoft could have a hit on there hands.

Devil May Cry on 360.......Maybe
